The Fire Door Inspection Scheme aims to transform people's knowledge about how and why fire doors work and the potential dangers of getting it wrong.
FDIS offer two qualifications:
- The FDIS Diploma in Fire Doors
- FDIS Certificated Inspector
These qualifications are essential for anyone working with fire doors and escape doors, including the Responsible Person and those carrying out fire risk assessments for the building they manage.
FDIS also provides training for anyone involved in fire safety including fire door manufacturers or component suppliers, facilities managers, and locksmiths that work on fire or escape doors.
FDIS was launched in 2012 as part of a joint initiative from GAI and BWF-Certifire Scheme.
