Member Update: Sponsorship packages now available for GAI technical publications

Guild members are advised that opportunities are now available to sponsor the GAI’s unique technical publications programme for the 2022/23 year.

In addition to the established GAI Specifiers’ Guides, Guides to Standards, and Quarterly Technical Review, new for the coming year is a range of publications designed to support the end users of architectural ironmongery.

These end-user guides will address the needs of clients, users, developers, facilities managers, and all who are involved with the building following its handover. They will be freely available and widely promoted.

The guides will look at existing regulations for the transfer of product data; how ironmongery and access control product should be used; and give practical tips on how it should be maintained and cared for. They will also explore the importance of BIM and the Golden Thread of information.

Sponsorship Packages

1. GAI End Users’ Guides

Two guides will be published in the 2022/23 year, providing an opportunity for sponsors to incorporate branding and relevant product images:

  • Architectural Ironmongery – An End Users’ Guide: Commercial
  • Architectural Ironmongery – An End Users’ Guide: Residential

Sponsorship is available at the cost of £500 (ex VAT) per guide.

2. GAI Specifiers’ Guides & Guides to Standards

Based on the GAI’s RIBA-approved CPD presentations, GAI Specifiers’ Guides have proved popular with ironmongers, specifiers and architects since they were launched in 2019. All are available for anyone in the industry to download directly from the GAI website. As well as updating and republishing the existing guides, the coming year will see us adding a new guide on ironmongery, fires doors and intumescent protection.

GAI Guide to Standards are the ‘go-to’ documents which provide GAI members with details on standards and the relevant products. More than 20 guides are available in the website Knowledge Base and via the GAI Education Hub for our learners. This year we will be introducing two new Guides on the mechatronic standards EN 16867 and EN 15684.

A full list of existing and scheduled publications can be found at the bottom of this page.

Each individual guide costs £385 to sponsor for the year, with the following four packages available to provide even greater value.
Bronze = Sponsor 2 guides for £720 (£360 per guide)
Silver = Sponsor 3 guides for £930 (£310 per guide)
Gold = Sponsor 5 guides for £1,150 (£230 per guide)

3. GAI Quarterly Technical Review.

This publication provides a regular update to our members, detailing all relevant standards in development or being revised, and providing an update on when they may be published. It also provides key information on industry consultations, publications and up to date technical industry news. There will be four quarterly guides in the 2022/23 year.
Sponsorship of the GAI Quarterly Technical Review includes all four editions at a cost of £680 (ex. VAT).
