Advocacy

In all, the GAI represents the architectural ironmongery sector on more than 30 UK and international  standards committees and drafting panels, as well as organisations including the Competence Steering Group, Construction Leadership Council Brexit Forum, and Interim Industry Competence sub-committee. 

The Guild also chairs a number of influential panels including Shadow Fenestration Relevant Authority, Certifire Hardware Panel and Working Group 12 for competence in construction products. 
Through this work, the GAI speaks on behalf of its members in critical aspects of today’s construction agenda, such as BIM, competence, and the creation of BS and EN standards.
