John Planck Ltd are recruiting for Technical Sales Trainee - Door Automation based in Kent.

With approaching 50 years industry experience and the country’s largest team of fully qualified Registered Architectural Ironmongers, John Planck Ltd and our trading divisions John Monaghan and HAF, focus on the specification and supply of architectural ironmongery for both new and refurbished developments. Our expertise is primarily focused on the specification, scheduling, and supply of architectural ironmongery. We design solutions to fit any building project from modern, heritage, to bespoke.

As a responsible, independent supplier of automatic door systems, approved by the Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA), we offer nationwide installation and site surveys, by our fully qualified and CSCS certified automatic door specialists.
We are looking to grow the business further, building on our strength and industry experience. We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused individual to join our Automatic Door Team.  We see this as an important area of our business and due to expansion require a new team member to help, support and grow this integral division of the business.

About the role

We require a customer focused individual who can prove excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, you will work well under pressure and have experience working within a support role. In addition to this you will work closely with the wider John Planck team and build strong relationships with both internal and external colleagues.
Following the relevant training, the role will involve the following elements to be carried out:

  • Attend site for pre-quotation surveys
  • Attend meetings and provide presentations to assist with order generation 
  • Production of quotes and specifications for issue to customers
  • Follow-up of quotations for order conversion
  • Assist with refinement and potential improvement of standard product offering
  • Provide technical information for colleagues.

 

Post order, there will also be a project management requirement for the successful candidate to undertake the following:

  • Keep order and installation log up to date
  • Acknowledge order to customer and produce/send basic containment information
  • Provide contract information list and a finalised equipment list for order and despatch to the appointed installation team
  • Attend site to undertake pre-install surveys – advise on physical installation and cabling etc. Undertake a Risk Assessment.
  • Establish provisional install date and liaise with engineers for availability. Update install diary.
  • Contact site the week before install to check on progress and whether the engineer can attend
  • Issue standard O&M information to customer. Log warranty start date.
  • Respond to call out requests in a timely manner.
