Shortlists announced for GAI Community Awards 2024 

The Guild of Architectural Ironmongery (GAI) has announced the shortlisted entries in its 2024 Community Awards.


The GAI Community Awards celebrate individuals and businesses who have demonstrated leadership, innovation, and service to the architectural ironmongery industry. 

Shortlisted entries are as follows: 

Achiever -  for individuals who have excelled in developing their careers.  

  • Debbie Burston – Hoppe 
  • Migle Mickeviciute – Formerly SDS London 
  • Abbie Molesworth – Door Controls Direct 

Company Innovation - for companies which can demonstrate they are innovating through improved processes and will be able to demonstrate how those improvements have made a difference to them, their customers or wider society. 

  • Abloy UK  
  • Instinct Hardware 
  • UAP  

Customer Focus - for individuals, companies or teams that have gone the extra mile to deliver excellence in customer service, whether through new processes or for consistently delivering beyond expectation and delighting the customer. 

  • Carlisle Brass 
  • Haq Meharban – Instinct Hardware 
  • Norseal 
  • Andrew Syms – Hoppe 

Leadership - celebrating those who have demonstrated leadership within the AI sector. 

  • Simon Ayers – SDS 
  • Pat Jefferies – Abloy UK 
  • Peter Muggleton - Frelan Hardware 

The winners of the above categories will be announced at the GAI’s Member Event and 63rd Annual General Meeting at Staverton Park Hotel and Golf Club (near Daventry) on Saturday 8 June.  

The Fellowship Award (FGAI), which will be announced during the event,  is made to an individual who has shown a longstanding and ongoing commitment to the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers.  

The GAI Community Awards judging panel comprised: Simon Sutton (Norseal), Neil Rule (Access 2), Angus Grant (Carlisle Brass) and Juliette Lambert (County Architectural Ironmongery).
